We are back safe and sound from our Argentina trip. We had a wonderful time with the team and with our new Argentine friends. You can see more photos under the Photos link.
Many things in Argentina are different than here in the states - not wrong. For instance, coffee comes in very small servings - even coffee Americana. To quote a friend, that isn't wrong, it is just different - but it ain’t right.
We were up several days at 5am and at the bus stop at 6am to greet people who were going from City Bell to Buenos Aires for work or school. We would walk up to them and in English ask if they would like a cup of Hot Chocolate. If they answered either yes or no, we assumed they had a little English skill and tried to engage them in conversation and invited them to an English Club to practice their English. We were well received by most - although we did get the "why would you come to the bus stop at this hour?" question fairly frequently.
We also did surveys on the streets of City Bell looking for more English speakers. We didn’t do an official tally, but we probably found between 20 and 30 people interested in joining the Club.
